for those whose possessions exceed their needs
i pray that they would be unburdened
that they be freed of the fearful drive for more
that what they have could reach where it can help
so they may experience the rewards of charity
for those whose responsibility surpasses their maturity
i pray that they would have the space to grow
that the weight of decision-making be shared amongst those the decisions touch
so the few need not bear it alone
for the inheritors of the guilt of the past
fortunes cursed by ancestral deeds
i pray that they would find a way to give back enough
to in their deepest heart be atoned
for those who nurture hate
i pray that they will receive love
for the pure child they once were
and the shining light they may yet become
for myself
i ask openness to wish good to all
even these i find easier to bear ill will
